Thomas-Swan Sign Company Inc. has a rich history of over 140 years, starting in 1877 as 'Swan the Painter' in San Francisco, where Mr. Swan began by painting residences and commercial buildings. As demand for custom signage grew, the business evolved into a complete signmaking operation. In 1951, Carroll E. Thomas acquired the business, expanding its capabilities to include wall-lettering, gold leafing, vehicle lettering, and the fabrication and installation of raised letters. With the addition of his son Allen in 1960, the company flourished, and after Allen's tenure, leadership transitioned to Mike and Stacey Roberts and Bruce and Cyndi Thomas in 1996. Under four generations of family management, Thomas-Swan has focused on service excellence, innovative planning, and growth in the commercial sign manufacturing industry.
