St. Mary's Native Corporation (SMNC) is an Alaska Native Village Corporation, established under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) on June 21, 1973. Originating from the Yup'ik people along the Andreafsky River, SMNC manages approximately 129,000 acres in Western Alaska. The corporation is owned by 297 original shareholders and their descendants. As a for-profit entity, SMNC encompasses a family of businesses, including a holding company, four active subsidiaries, two partnerships, and one non-profit organization, with operations extending into Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Georgia, Texas, and the Marshall Islands.
At the core of SMNC’s operations is its holding company, Ikayuaq Services, LLC, which oversees various subsidiaries involved in diverse sectors such as manufacturing, construction, real estate management and development, and facility services. SMNC plays a crucial role in managing its landholdings and business ventures under the guidance of a five-member Board of Directors and senior management, including a CEO and Finance Director.
