Founded by Navy Pilot Virgil Orval Murray after World War II, the company has its roots in Lubbock, Texas, where Virgil started his journey in the lumber industry. In 1963, he launched Murray Wright Construction in partnership with local realtor Betty Wright, specializing in custom homes.
The legacy continued with Virgil's son, David K. Murray, who expanded his experience in the construction business and eventually took the reins of E.B.T. Construction in Hayward, California. Joined by his son, Stacey Murray, in 1997, the firm was rebranded as Murray Construction Services, incorporating third-generation management into its operations.
